From the Book of Mormon we have Lehi's testimony:
". . .for there is a God, and he hath created all things, both the heavens and the earth, and all things that in them are, both things to act and things to be acted upon." (2 Nephi 2:14)

I've seen a shorter version of this, without the rose segment at the end, and the whole thing is really interesting. I saw a little book that you'd be interested in, maybe, called Mormonism and Evolution. Somebody collected all the statements that the Church has made on the authority of the First Presidency about evolution. Quick read, but very interesting.
